What is Aurasma?

A new technology that can change the way we look at and interact with physical objects. Called Aurasmsa, it works with smart phone and tablets to, in real time, turn static images or even objects into videos, games and interactive experiences. Aim your phone at a building and see a video about that building. Aim it at a picture in a newspaper and launch an interactive experience.

Let's look at a video that gives a demo:

Important Terms:

Below are three key terms users should know when creating their aura and a brief explanation of the aura-creation process.

Aura: The augmented reality system that uses the Aurasma camera to recognize trigger images and play content over the trigger image.

Overlay Content: An overlay is the playable content (image or video) that will be activated when Aurasma’s image-recognition software identifies a trigger image.

Trigger Image: A trigger image is what the Aurasma camera will recognize and activate the overlay content. This image can be a picture found online or real objects.
